How would you define your photography style?
Elegant, classic and timeless. I prefer an asthetic that is very natural and clean. I also have a photojournalistic approach to a wedding day. I love raw, genuine moments. I believe this style of photography will never go out of style.
If I hire Olivia Lott Photography, will Olivia be the actual photographer for my wedding?
Yes! I, Olivia, will be there to photograph your wedding. If for any reason, I can not make it due to illness, death, etc. arrangements will be made to ensure a professional photographer is there to photograph your BIG day!
How many weddings do you take per year?
Weddings are a very stressful, but exciting time in a brides life. With this, we want to be able to devote as much time and energy as possible to make sure your photographer is one less thing to stress over. We want to make sure that we can provide you with the attention and care that you need from your photographer! That being said, we take around 20-25 weddings per year as weddings are our main focus.
Do you recommend a first look?
It's completely up to you! First looks give such an intimate moment for the bride and groom. The wedding day can be extremely chaotic and the first look gives the bride and groom a few minutes to actually take in the moment and get out all of the wedding jitters! This also allows us the time to do all portraits and family portraits before the ceremony so the bride and groom can go straight to reception after the ceremony! However, a lot of my brides prefer the more traditional approach to the wedding day and that is perfect as well!
I'm ready to book, what do I do?
Very awesome! I am so excited to work with you! We can meet to take a look at albums, canvases, etc. We can go over contract then and a non-refundable retainer of 25% is due at booking. If you're out of town or have a hectic schedule, not a problem. I have an online booking system that makes things very convenient for booking!
Do you accept "shot lists"?
Not exactly. If there are any special requests for photos, please let us know, however, due to time constraints, weather, etc. we can not gaurantee any images. We have a photojournalistic approach so we try our best to document every aspect of the wedding day without looking at a list. A full shot list can be a hinderence so we prefer to strictly have a family portraits list.
If we cancel with you, can we get our retainer back?
No, your retainer fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Once your contract and retainer has been received, we turn down all other weddings and events for this date. The retainer fee guarantees the date is yours, therefore it is non-refundable.
Do you charge sales tax?
Yes, I am legally obligated to charge sales tax on all transactions.
What form of payment do you accept?
Currently we accept all major credit cards, cash, check and money order. We do NOT accept PayPal as a form of payment.
When is my balance due?
We currently require 25% at booking, 25% 6 months prior to your wedding date and the remainder is due at least 30 days before the event.
Should we have engagements taken?
I believe engagement sessions are extremely important! This gives me an opportunity to get to know the clients and how they photograph, and also so they learn how I work! It gives you photos to enjoy from the fun time of being engaged! After you're married, you won't have many opportunities to have photos taken of just you two again, if you're wanting to start a family! We include a complimentary engagement session with all collections, so why not take advantage AND get to know me at the same time?
How long will it take for us to get our images?
For sessions, my guaranteed turnaround time is three weeks. For weddings, my guaranteed turnaround time is six weeks.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I shoot with professional Nikon gear. I have multiple cameras and lenses that allow me to photograph in many different scenarios. We also have a lot of flash gear to help in difficult lighting situations.
Do you have insurance?
Yes! Absolutely! We have our coverage through State Farm.
