Houmas House Plantation
Audrey & Greg were married tonight at the gorgeous Houmas House Plantation in Darrow, Louisiana. I had the absolute pleasure of being a part of such a special time in this sweet couple's life. I have known Audrey for years. My cousin has been one of her best friends for more than a decade and with that, I met Audrey! I was so excited when she reached out to me to shoot her wedding. She was dead set on using me & that is always a huge compliment! When she told me she booked Houmas House for her wedding, I was beyond excited. I have been obsessed with plantation homes since I was a kid.
A few weeks before the wedding, we made a trip down to Houmas House for her bridal portraits. It was Audrey's Spring Break so we had one shot, one day to get them done. As the day got closer, the forecast got worse. It was about a 90% chance of rain for bridal portraits. I knew we couldn't delay, so I prayed. We got to the plantation and unloaded all of our gear & the weather was barely drizzling. I was so excited until I looked at the radar. A huge storm was coming. We decided to wait it out in the getting ready suite. 30 minutes passed and we decided to head out to the plantation home to start her bridal session inside the home. It was our only choice at this point. We walked out onto the porch for a few outdoor shots and the sky cleared up. The sun came out & surprised us all! What an incredible day it turned out to be!
